The Grammy Awards are presented since 1952 by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences of the United States to recognize achievements in the music industry. Tina Turner won her first Grammy in 1971 as part of the duo Ike & Tina Turner for the song Proud Mary and solo in 1985 for her hit single What’s Love Got To Do With It. In total, she won 8 Grammys from 25 nominations and received also 3 Hall of Fame Awards and a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Tina was also twice a musical guest at the Grammys: In 1985 she performed her #1 hit What’s Love Got To Do With It live on stage. This performance was released on the Grammy Greatest Moments album and home video. In 2008, after she was introduced from Beyoncé as 'The Queen', she performed first two songs solo and continued then together with Beyoncé with the classic Proud Mary. Beside of this, she also presented the Grammy twice to other award winners: First in 1982 together with James Brown to James Ingram and again in 1993 to Eric Clapton.
