Steamy Windows was the second single from the album Foreign Affair in Germany and America and the third one in England, including remixed dance versions from Justin Strauss, and received a Grammy nomination in 1991. Tina used the track as the opening number for some of her concert tours, a live version is available on the album TINA Live from 2009. For promotion, she performed the song at several TV-Shows in Europe and the record company released a large number of promo records with remixed versions. The song was reissued in 1995 under the 'Back to Back Hit Series‘ on the Collectables label.
A remastered version of the previously unreleased track Stronger Than The Wind was released digitally in 2021 to promote the Foreign Affair (Deluxe Edition).

Well, Tony, like Eric Clapton and a lot of the people that writer their own music, he plays only what he does. He doesn't try to be anyone else, and I
like it. I like that about him, it's a reminder of the music that people like. „Steamy Windows“ was the very first one that I said out of the three that we received. I said to Roger Davies, I like it and Roger says „Oh, I don’t know, this one is really commercial“ and blah, blah, blah. Fine, but I’m just talking about me. And I don't get that involved with record company and management once I record it and we get it. They can choose whatever they want to do with it, but my preference from the very beginning was this one. — Foreign Affair promotional interview
In the music video, Tina wears the same mini dress as on the cover of the single, while she is dancing together with some dancers, filmed through a wet glass. In-between, there are some scenes with couples in cars, filmed as well through the wet panes.
