TINA

Developed in London in close collaboration with Tina Turner, this critically acclaimed musical had its world premiere at the Aldwych Theatre in April 2018. Since then, it has smashed box office records and expanded into ten first-class productions worldwide, including on Broadway, across North America, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, and Australia. The Broadway production opened in November 2019, earning 12 Tony Award nominations, including for 'Best Musical‘ and the North American tour played to packed houses across the continent for three years.

In Australia, the musical completed a highly successful national tour, breaking historic box office records at Melbourne’s Princess Theatre and selling out seasons in Sydney, Perth, and Brisbane. Across Europe, productions have played to acclaim in Hamburg and Stuttgart (Germany), Utrecht (Netherlands), and Madrid (Spain). After a record-breaking 7 ½ years, the West End production has finished and an UK & Ireland Tour ran from March 2025 until April 2026, with over 600,000 people watching the show. Additionally, the show opened in São Paulo, Brazil, marking its 11th global production. Until now, the musical has been seen globally by over 8 million people.

Tina was in London on December 16, 2016 for the first workshop presentation of the show. In 2017, at the launch party in October, she introduced Adrienne Warren for the role as Tina Turner. After one year of sold out shows, a new cast was introduced on April 15, 2019 with Nkeki Obi-Melekwe playing the role of Tina, while Adrienne Warren recreated her celebrated performance in New York on Broadway. In September 2024, the musical in the West End was seen by over 2 million people.

Kobna Holdbrook-Smith (as Ike Turner) won an Olivier Award on April 07, 2019 as „Best Actor“ and Adrienne Warren won a Tony Award on September 26, 2021 in the category „Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role“. She was also nominated for an Olivier Award for her work in the London staging.

Germany

The German version of the musical started in 2019 in Hamburg, after Tina presented Kristina Love at the launch party on October 23, 2018 at the Mojo Club. Kristina also visited Tina in her Swiss home in November and was surprised by her singing „Happy Birthday“. After four years in Hamburg, the musical relocated to the Stage Palladium Theater in Stuttgart in 2023.

Adrienne Warren recreated her celebrated performance in New York on Broadway with the premiere in 2019 and the attendance of Tina, her husband and celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and Whoopie Goldberg. At the end of the show, Tina thanked everybody on stage, which was Tina Turner's last public appearance to say 'goodbye' to her fans. After the final Broadway show in 2022, the musical went on a multi-year North American Tour.

In 2021, the Spanish version opened at the Teatro Coliseum in Madrid with Kerry Sankoh in the main role. The musical was promoted from the main actors in the New Year’s Eve special Feliz 2022 with the live performance of Tina’s signature song Proud Mary.

Australia

In 2023, the musical came to Australia with box office records in the pre-sale period. It sold more tickets than any other show at Theatre Royal in Sydney since it reopened. In 2024, it went on tour in Australia, starting with first performances in Perth.

The Australian cast promoted the musical at the NRL Grand Final at Sydney’s Accor Stadium in 2023 with a pre-game mini concert, marking 30 years since Tina Turner’s iconic performance at the 1993 Grand Final and celebrating her unique association with the Rugby League. Ruva Ngwenya filmed for this event a commercial on top of Sydney's Harbour Bridge, like Tina Turner in 1995, when she climbed to the top of the bridge at dawn, wearing high heels.

Musical On Tour

The tour started in 2022 as a multi-year North American tour with more than 600 performances until August 2024 in all major cities in the U.S. and Canada, with a second leg starting in September. In 2024, the tour was extended to Australia, with first performances in Perth and a highly successful run of 14 month. In 2025, the tour came also to England and Ireland and in 2026, the musical performed at the Theater 11 in Tina’s former hometown Zurich. On February 26, performances started at the Theatro Santander in São Paulo, Brazil and in August, it comes also to Denmark with performances in several cities.
