Tina Turner - We Don’t Need Another Hero - Single

We Don’t Need Another Hero

Single (1985)

We Don’t Need Another Hero is the first single, to promote the Mad Max movie and soundtrack. The song was a massive worldwide success and Tina's first #1 in Germany. The power ballad with London's King's House School choral received a Golden Globe Award and a Grammy Award nomination. The single was reviewed from Billboard magazine in it’s issue from June 29, 1985. Tina added the song to the setlist of her ongoing Private Dancer Tour and performed it since then live in every concert.

The music video shows Tina standing on a bright spotlight and dressed in her Auntie Entity costume, with various scenes from the movie in-between. At the end, she is accompanied by the King’s House school children's choir and Timmy Capello playing the saxophone part. The clip was nominated for a MTV Video Music Award in the category 'Best Female Video' in 1986.
