Break Every Rule was a TV-Special, filmed at London’s Camden Palace in November 1986 with special guest Robert Cray and an introduction by Max Headroom, to promote the Break Every Rule album and forthcoming tour. It was reviewed in Billboard magazine in it’s issue from June 6, 1987. Beside songs from her new album, she performed also some old soul classics. As a special bonus, it includes also the music video for the European single Girl’s. Most of the songs were later included into the tracklist of the album Live In Europe and in 2022, it was remastered and re-issued on DVD as part of the Break Every Rule (Deluxe Edition).
Actually, Wilson Pickett was invited to participate as a special guest vocalist at least on his self-written song „In The Midnight Hour," but because the filming was very complicated with him, Tina and Roger Davis decided to replace him with Robert Cray. A picture with Tina & Wilson was recently released in the book Simply Tina from Paul Cox, who photographed the shooting.
She’s bad. She’s beautiful. And she’s back on HBO! From her classic 60s soul to her all-out 80s rock, Tina Turner proves why she’s the reigning queen of rock’n roll in this all-new music special.
