The Grammy Awards are presented since 1952 by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences of the United States to recognize achievements in the music industry. Ike & Tina Turner were nominated five times for a Grammy, with the first nomination in 1962 for the single It’s Gonna Work Out Fine. In 1971, they won in the category 'Best R&B Vocal Performance‘ for their biggest hit Proud Mary. Additionally, two of their songs have been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. Ike Turner solo won his first Grammy in 2007 for the album Risin’ With The Blues, after he was first nominated in 1970 for the longplayer A Black Man’s Soul.
