Sweet Rhode Island Red is the very last studio album from Ike & Tina Turner before they separated. It contains many songs written by Tina Turner, as well as some cover versions. The album was created exclusively for the international market and was only available through the Columbia Record Club in the United States. Most of the songs were remixed and reissued after Tina’s comeback, released on the compilation Golden Empire. The album was digitally remastered in 2012 on the double CD Sweet Rhode Island Red / The Gospel According To Ike & Tina.
