Golden Empire is a collection of rock and r&b standards like Faye Adams Shake A Hand, contemporary tunes including Stevie Wonders Living For The City and funky, witty Ike Turner originals. Beside previously released songs, it features also a lot of unreleased material, available for the first time on this two record set. Some tracks were already recorded in 1976 for a planned album, but because Tina left Ike the same year it never materialised. All tracks are re-mastered and remixed by Striped Horse Records chief Carlo Nasi and Philadelphia International veteran engineer Don Murray.
A selection of twelve songs was released under the different title Get It On and all songs have been reissued several times on different titled records like The Collection or Mississippi Rolling Stone and with different cover pictures.
