Get It - Get It was the only album from the duo on the Cenco label, originally released in 1966 and re-issued in 1970 under the different title Her Man…His Woman as a remixed edition, with strings and horns overdubs. It features two previously released non album tracks and the title track, released as a single in 1967. In 1972 it was re-issued again with a different cover art and some changes in the tracklist.
Producer: Ike Turner
Release: 1966 / 1970 / 1972 (Reissue)
Label: Cenco / Capitol (Remix) / Pickwick (Reissue)
Format: Vinyl
The title track Get It, Get It was the only single from the album, first released in America and later also in Europe with the different b-side track I Can’t Believe What You Say, which was already a single in 1964.
The track I Can’t Believe What You Say was a non album track, but was also included with live overdubs on the 1964 album Revue Live. Ike & Tina promoted the song at the TV-Shows American Bandstand and Shindig! in 1965. A remixed version was released in 1971 on the album Her Man…His Woman and an Ike Turner version is available on the album The Edge from 1980. Last but not least, Ike Turner released some previously unreleased versions on different sampler after the split of the duo.
Strange is a very rare single, released on Ike’s own label Sonja. A reworked version is available on the album Airwaves from 1978. Strangely enough, the b-side track „You’re A Jive Playboy“ is the same song and same version as „Don’t Lie To Me“ from the single Betcha Can’t Kiss Me and „Poor Sam“ from the single I Better Get Ta Steppin’ as well as „Sad Sam“ from the sampler Souled From The Vaults. The single was reissued in 2014 in it’s original format.
