The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a historic landmark which consists of more than 2,700 five-pointed terrazzo and brass stars embedded in the sidewalks along 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and three blocks of Vine Street in Hollywood, California. The stars are permanent public monuments to achievement in the entertainment industry, bearing the names of a mix of actors, directors, producers, musicians and others.
Tina Turner received her star in 1986 with a ceremony hosted by Johnny Grant, honorary mayor of Hollywood, who introduced Bill Welch, the president of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, who then introduced Don Zimmerman, president of Capitol Records, who introduced the rest of his Capitol team… a lot of introduction.
