The Original London Cast Recording is a 24-track album with all of the songs from TINA - The Tina Turner Musical in the Westend, London and the first release from Tina’s musical. It starts with the opening number „Etherland“and a church-style arrangement of Nutbush City Limits. This is followed by an emotional rendition of Don't Turn Around from Lorna Gayle as Gran Georgeanna, „Shake a Tail Feather“ from The Ikettes, A Fool in Love with Warren's astounding scales and control, River Deep, Mountain High and Proud Mary. Kobna Holdbrook-Smith shows his gravelly and soulful tone during The Hunter, whilst his and Warren's voices get together in „Matchbox“. Act two jumps in time a little, starting with Private Dancer and Disco Inferno, while I Can't Stand The Rain illustrates Tina's evolution as an artist. Adrienne Warren can be heard during the stripped-back introduction of What's Love Got To Do With It and then performing the hell out of Tina's legendary hit Simply the Best and the final encore with the entire cast.
The album was first released digitally and on compact disc, but later also on 2 vinyl records and as a special vinyl gold edition. For promotion, River Deep, Mountain High was released as the first single, including a music video, followed by The Hunter as the second single.
