Ike & Tina Turner - Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - Award

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a museum in Cleveland, celebrating the most important musicians and producers. Artists become eligible for induction 25 years after the release of their first record.

In 1991, Ahmet Ertegun and Phil Spector inducted Ike & Tina Turner on their behalf, because Ike was in prison and Tina did not want to participate. Tina is the third artist to be a double inductee after she was also inducted as a solo artist in 2021.

„She's the closest thing to a gem, a diamond I've ever seen. She has the roughness. the rawness she has the beauty. She shines, she's bright and most of all she's priceless. She is just a gem of a person. Always has been. Always will be.“ — Phil Spector

„A charismatic bandleader and an unbridled whirlwind of sexual energy formed one of the most formidable live acts in history. Ike and Tina Turner were such a presence onstage that even their own albums don’t do them justice.“ — Ahmet Ertegun
