Dust My Broom is a cover song, originally recorded as „I Believe I'll Dust My Broom" by American blues artist Robert Johnson in 1936. Ike and Tina’s version was produced by Ray Charles and released twice on his own label Tangerine Records. First in 1966 as a non album track, promoted from Tina at the American TV-Show Where The Action Is, and again in 1971, taken from the sampler Souled Out. After the success of Proud Mary, this reissue reached the CashBox chart. A live version of the title track is available on the album The World of Ike & Tina from 1973. The b-side from the 1971 release was already a single in 1966.
Ike & Tina recorded another version under the title „I Believe“ for their album Get It - Get It in 1966 and a totally different and longer version for their album Outta Season in 1969. Also Ike recorded a solo version for his album Bad Dreams in 1973.
