TINA: Award

Berolina (1987)

Tina Turner - Berolina - Award

Berolina is the Latin name for the city of Berlin and the female figure symbolizing it. It was also the name of an Award show on German language television in 1987. Host of the show was Thomas Gottschalk, who was also the host of Europe's most successful TV-Show Wetten Dass..? Tina Turner was one of the 15 laureates who received the Berolina. Because she was on tour in Canada, they established a satellite connection to present the award, but because of technical issues, Tina couldn’t hear Thomas and waited nearly 30 minutes standing there, which was very funny. Finally, the connection was successful and she thanked everyone for this special award.
