The NRJ Music Awards is a French award show from the radio station NRJ (Nouvelle Radio des Jeunes), to honor the best French and worldwide artists in the music industry in different categories. The name "NRJ" means "Nouvelle Radio des Jeunes" (new radio of the young people).
Tina Turner was presented the award from the French actor Alain Delon in Cannes, as the opening of MIDEM (Marché international de l'édition musicale) and promoted also her recent single When The Heartache Is Over.
