The Musical Awards were founded in 2000 on the initiative of Joop van den Ende to honor the special achievements of performing artists in musical productions. On January 06, 2016, the awards were presented in the Beatrix Theater in Utrecht. Joop van den Ende received the 'Eventim Oeuvre Award' in a very rare public appearance from Tina Turner for his inexhaustible dedication and passion for musicals in the Netherlands and German speaking countries. Joop is one of the producers of TINA - The Tina Turner Musical.
