The Olivier Awards are presented annually by the Society of London Theatre to recognise excellence in professional theatre in London. The name of the award comes in honour of the British actor Laurence Olivier. In 2019, the ceremony was held on April 07 at the Royal Albert Hall, hosted by Jason Manford. TINA - The Tina Turner Musical was nominated in the categories 'Best Musical' as well as 'Best Actor‘ (for Kobna Holdbrook-Smith as Ike Turner) and 'Best Actress‘ (for Adrienne Warren as Tina Turner). Kobna won the award and after a very emotional speech, Adrienne performed River Deep, Mountain High live on stage.
