Living For The City is a song from Stevie Wonder, originally released in 1973. Ike & Tina covered it one year later for their album Sweet Rhode Island Red. In 1985, it was remixed and released as the title track for the album Golden Empire, which features many previously unreleased tracks. The single was first released in America with a different b-side as the European version one year later. Some 12“ records are made of transparent yellow vinyl.

Striped Horse records released an Ike and Tina Turner version of Stevie Wonders „Living For The City“ a few weeks ago. The cut is classic Stevie and classic Tina and deserves a listen though the exploitation factor is obvious. The tune will be part of „GoIden Empire,“ previously unreleased Ike and Tina tracks to be released by Striped Horse. Label head Carlo Nasi remixed the tracks.
