TINA: Live (Concert)

Live Aid (1985)

Tina Turner & Mick Jagger - Live Aid - Concert

Live Aid was a charity concert, organised by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise funds for relief of the ongoing Ethiopian famine. The event was held simultaneously at the Wembley Stadium in London and the John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia on July 13, 1985 and was broadcasted internationally via satellite television. Tina Turner was just on the road with her Private Dancer Tour and didn’t appeared with an own set, but accompanied Mick Jagger on two songs. During their duet on „It's Only Rock’n Roll,“ Mick ripped away Tina's skirt, leaving her to finish the song in a leotard. At the end of the U.S. concert, Tina also attended the entire cast on the song We Are The World. In 2004, the complete performances of both concerts were released on home video.
