The Soul of Ike & Tina is a compilation and should not to be confused with Ike & Tina's debut album from 1961. It contains almost previously released singles and b-side tracks, as well as some new songs. The album was originally released in 1965 only in America but was later re-issued worldwide on different labels and with different cover pictures. In 1994 it was released on compact disc with additional bonus tracks. In Spain it was released under the different title Goodbye So Long in 1971 and in Italy and France with a different order of the tracks as We Call It Soul in 1974.
