Feel Good returned Ike & Tina to their R&B roots with a blistering mix of soul, R&B and early funk. It features only one cover from the Beatles and nine songs written by Tina Turner. The special effects on the track „Chopper“ are from Rhonda Graam. For promotion, Ike & Tina performed the title track at some TV-Shows in America and Tina announced some tracks from the album in a radio show from The Veterans Administration. Originally released in 1972 with a wonderful gatefold cover, the album was re-issued on the double CD Nutbush City Limits / Feel Good in 2006. In Japan, it was released on red vinyl including a 12“ size booklet.

The first single Feel Good features two tracks written by Tina Turner. For promotion, the duo performed the title track live at the TV-Shows Soul Train and Tonight Show in 1972. She Came In Through The Bathroom Window is a Beatles cover and was only released in Europe while the duo was on tour. Ike & Tina also promoted it at the TV-Show Rollin On The River and performed it live in their concerts. A live version is available on the album The World of Ike and Tina from 1973.
The Turners have another top flight album here especially in the driving numbers, such as „If You Can Hully Gully (I Can Hully Gully Too)“ and Lennon-McCartney's „She Came in Through the Bathroom Window“. Nine of 10 tunes are Tina's own compositions. Other cuts by this always exciting act include „Bolic,“ „You Better Think of Something,“ „Black Coffee“ and the title single.
