Fontella Bass & Tina Turner - Poor Little Fool - Single

Poor Little Fool

is a single from Fontella Bass and features backing vocals from Tina Turner on the melodical main part. It’s the only recording from the 1960s, where you can hear Tina Turner together with another female singer (apart from The Ikettes). Ike produced the single and played guitar. The song was first released in 1964 and was later included into the tracklist of this album.

Fontella Bass was born in St. Louis, Missouri on July 3, 1940 as the daughter of the gospel singer Martha Bass. Her biggest success was the song „Rescue Me,“ which reached #4 in the US and #11 in the UK. Fontella died on December 26, 2012 at a St. Louis hospice from complications of a heart attack.
