Without Love…I Have Nothing was Ike's try to establish his solo career. He played almost all instruments and a majority of the vocals are done by him, except on the track „I Don't Know Why I Love You,“ which were performed by his wife Jeanette. Because Ike was not contracted to a record company, the album wasn’t available in record stores, but only through Juke Blues magazine under his own label, which was the reason it went largely unnoticed.
