I’m So Thankful with lead vocals from Jessie Smith and background vocals by Robbie Montgomery and Vanetta Fields was a R&B success, but no pop crossover like I’m Blue or Peaches 'N’ Cream. The Ikettes promoted the single with appearances at some TV-Shows like Shindig, „Hullahalloo“ and „Shebang“. The version on the album Soul The Hits is a different mix with a few extra backing vocals. The b-side track is a funked up cover of an old Jimmy Beasley hit from 1956. The single was re-issued under the „Modern Oldies“ series.

The Iketters are a cinch to create a tremendous sales-stir with this in both the pop and r&b markets. The top lid here, "I'm So Thankful" a slow-shufflin' romantic ode about a love-sick gal who is on cloud nine since she met the fella of her dreams. Undercut, "Don’t Feel Sorry Me," is a hard-driving blues twister about a jilted lass who claims happy that her romance went kaput.
