Tina Turner - Essence Awards - TV

The Essence Awards are the largest event celebrating African-American culture and music in the United States. In 1993, Tina received the „Living Legend Award“ from her friend Ann Margret with a speech from Bill Cosby and a live tribute medley with some of her greatest hits, performed by Stephanie Mills, Chanté Moore and Karyn White. Tina was accompanied by her manager Roger Davis. In her very emotional acceptance speech about Ann, she also revealed, that she opened many times for Bill in Las Vegas and he always hided her costumes.
