Tina Turner - Friday Night Videos - TV

September 14, 1984

Friday Night Videos was an American music video show on NBC from July 1983 to May 2002. It was the network's attempt to capitalize on the emerging popularity of music videos as seen on MTV. In her first appearance in 1984, Tina was interviewed with some live songs from the Nice 'N' Rough home video and two of her recent videos in between. In 1989, she was again guest and presented some of her favorite videos together with Paul Schaffer. Paul is a big fan of Phil Spector, so he takes the opportunity to ask some questions about the recording of River Deep, Mountain High and Tina shared some interesting anecdotes. Besides of that, she talked about the recording of her album Foreign Affair and riding horseback for the music video of her recent single The Best.
