Ike & Tina Turner - Entertainer of the Year Award - TV

The Entertainer of the Year Award was presented annually for variety performer of the year from the American Guild of Variety Artists. It’s an American entertainment union representing performers in variety entertainment, including circuses, Las Vegas showrooms and cabarets, comedy, dance revues, magic shows and theme park shows.

Ike & Tina Turner with the Ikettes Linda Sims, Charlotte Lewis and Debbie Wilson were guests at the 4th Annual Awards show in December 1973 at the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. After being introduced by the host Ed Sullivan, they performed live the song Get Back. The show was aired the next year on January 26, 1974 on television.
